A fully-programmable engine control system monitors the engine temperature, hydraulic and oil pressure, fuel level and battery voltage. It also monitors driver training and information, and the system can be customised. A fail-safe braking system prevents vehicle runaway and vehicle motion.

The flameproof Manitou MT-X 625 telehandler features a Kubota 4-clyinder engine, water-cooled, turbo-assisted diesel engine that achieves high outputs of up to 55.4 kW @ 2 600 rpm with a swept volume of 3.33 l /min. This configuration has been specifically customized to adhere to the current South African flameproof specifications under SANS-868. Part of Manitou’s arsenal of underground mining equipment and flameproof mining equipment, this telehandler features a fully flameproof and custom-designed wet engine system complete with a flameproof intake adapter plate, intake manifold, flametrap, exhaust manifold and adaptor plate, a water-cooled turbo as well as an exhaust pipe and cooler with flametrap.
